Report by U16 captain Hollie Cornish Bridgwater v Plymouth Pilgrims
An optimistic Bridgwater U16 team travelled away to Plymouth to play the strong side of Plymouth Pilgrims. From the start Bridgwater stamped their authority on the game and took a very early lead of 11-5 partly due to the control and speed of Emma Reynolds (C ) and Karis Holleron (WA). The Bridgwater defence of Sammy Kemmish (GD) and Hannah Symes (GK) worked hard to secure the lead, and were rewarded as Pilgrims went on to only score 1 goal in the second quarter. In the second half Bridgwater continued to put pressure onto Pilgrims as they tried to work their way back into the game but the accurate shooting from Paige Langdon (GS) and Kate Heal (GA) as well fresh squad players entering the court pushed Bridgwater to an impressive 20 goal lead and finished the game 38-18.
