COUNTY EXECUTIVE MEETING & AGM/PRESENTATION:
Denise Ellis attended AGM and presented trophies. Represented well by Bridgwater Netball Club.
Taunton Club presented an objection to Regional Players playing in lower division matches.
Regional League Players (named 6 players) are categorised as ‘R’.
All others are ‘X’ and can, therefore, play in any team within their Club.
Bridgwater Netball Club proposes:
Named 6 players to be categorised as ‘R’.
All other Regional Squad Players are registered as ‘RA’ so it only entitles them to play in the Somerset League in their Club 1st team and they should start the match.
Dawn Fothergill to send this proposal to Hazel Davidson as all Committee Members present agreed with this proposal.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
Two benches to be purchased – total cost £200.
Handbook to be produced – once fixtures are finalised.
Trees have been planted at the side of the netball court at Haygrove but unsure who has planted them.
The Governors are not keen to have a pavilion on site.
Cath Clark reported we should look at posts to be sunk into the ground at Haygrove – £499.63/pair. Plus the cost for someone to install the sockets into the ground. Cath has found an offer of £388.31/pair. The Committee decided to purchase a pair for each court.
Bridgwater Netball Club was invited to enter the Somerset Corporate Games at Millfield but Cath Clark declined the offer because the cost was £40.00 per person.
Cath Clark still to look at costs to install Portaloo at Haygrove, on the grass area, close to the courts.
To also try and relay a new path to the courts and steps down to the court. Cath to look into the costs and all members to assist – a Club Working Party.
To think about purchasing tracksuit bottoms – Julie McClean to investigate.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING: Tuesday 7 September 2010 at Dawn Fothergill’s. Time 7pm – 9pm.
