BRIDGWATER NETBALL CLUB
MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2010
PRESENT: Cath Clark (Chairperson), Elaine Bartlett, Chris Durant, Dawn Fothergill, Hazel Hucker, Katy Cheese, Becky Palmer, Julie McClean and Emma Downes.
APOLOGIES: Apologies were received from Amy Fournier, Amy Shaw, Chris Shaw and Coleen Bartlett.
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING: These were signed as a true copy.
MATTERS ARISING: There were no matters arising.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
£2572.31 – Interest Account.
£1783.37 – Current Account.
Elaine has registered 49 players. £300 sent to County to register the six teams. Purchased two sets of posts – total cost – £813.64. Deposit paid out for new kit. Elaine to keep reminding players as first payment of subs – now overdue. Form to be produced to send out to members reminding them to pay subs promptly.
FIXTURES/UMPIRING SECRETARY’S REPORT: Julie McClean reported a Fixtures List has been sent to all players. There are no major changes at present. Saturday 11 September – All umpires to attend a Mentoring Course at Taunton Vale – 9.30am start.
CLUB CAPTAIN’S REPORT: Dawn Fothergill reported it is crucial that she receives all relevant information for CAPs evidence as soon as possible.
SELECTORS’ REPORT: Amy Fournier sent report – difficult to select six teams especially when some players requested to be ‘X’ Category. Six teams have now been selected.
TEAM CAPTAINS’ REPORTS: Jupiter – no report. Saturn – £39.00. Neptune – Played Jupiter as a friendly match. Venus – Various options available for Venus. Mercury – Good to see Hazel umpiring. Mars – N/A
CLUB COACH’S REPORT: Cath distributed a Training Rota. Dawn to approach Wasps for Wednesday 22 September, 10 November and 12 January to train with them as Sports Hall not available. Cath to update Training Rota and distribute to players tomorrow night at training.
JUNIOR ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT: First Junior Match to be played this weekend at Taunton Vale.
COURSES: Courses as Website.
Saturday 11 September – Umpiring Forum at Taunton Vale. All umpires expected to attend.
FUND RAISING: Bag-Packing on Saturday 27 November & Sunday 28 November at Sainsbury’s.
COUNTY EXECUTIVE MEETING: Nothing to report.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Posts have now been ordered.
Quotes are being received for new path to the courts at Haygrove.
Tracksuit bottoms – at the moment quite expensive so will wait until after next bagpacking event to confirm whether these can be subsidised by Club.
All Policies were reviewed and agreed by the Committee.
‘Team 2011’ – write in no more than 500 words why Bridgwater Netball Club should be The Team of 2011 – Cath suggested a competition.
For fundraising Cath to distribute Clothing Bags – collect clothing and receive cash.
Christmas Meal at Enmore on Wednesday 22 December – Dawn Fothergill to book for this date.
